The Gravesend Model Marine and Engineering Society (GMMES)

The Gravesend Model Marine and Engineering Society (GMMES) is a small friendly club, whose home track is situated in North Kent overlooking the estuary of the river Thames. Our miniature steam railway offers train rides for children and adults every Sunday afternoon from 2:00pm until 5:00pm, from early spring to late autumn (British summer time). We have a fine 1218ft. long raised track, catering for 3½” & 5″ gauge locomotives.

Abbots Model Engineering

Abbots Model Engineering was born in 2005 when we decided to build a Class 66 “Freightliner” loco, completed in 2006 this loco has clocked up over 1000 miles. This project inspired us to design and develop other items for use on track, and, the past 2 and half years has been devoted to just that.

The Cheltenham Society of Model Engineers (CSME) was founded in 1938. From those humble beginnings, with much member enthusiasm, and until the mid-1950s without a permanent home, the Cheltenham Society has grown steadily over the years. Originally starting as a steam locomotive based society, it still has a primary interest in steam locomotives but this is now equalled by diesel locomotives (usually electrically powered). In addition, interests exist in steam road locomotives with also a large contingent of boating interests, both steam and electric

Chichester & District Society of Model Engineers

Chichester & District Society of Model Engineers Ltd. The aims of the Society are simple: to bring together all persons who are interested in the construction and, or working of models of all descriptions, or replicas in miniature; the exhibition and trial of models, and to provide a well equipped workshop for the purpose of lectures and instruction for the improvement of the individual craftsmanship of its members.

Mid-Cheshire Society of Model Engineers

Whilst mainly being a Railway based club, with (when finished) a 3.5″ & 5 raised track inside a 357 Metre – 5″ & 7.25″ ground level track, we do have, and would welcome all prospective new members from the many other model engineering disciplines, ie, Traction and Stationary Engines, Boats, Aircraft etc. Or anyone with a particular interest, but none of that precious time to actually make an engine, can always come and help, and learn to drive the clubs engines.

We are a group of model engineering enthusiasts that meet at our clubhouse and grounds in Burton-upon-Trent, Staffordshire. Our Society was founded in 1947 and has celebrated its 65 year anniversary in 2012.  Thanks to the efforts of dedicated members our tracks and facilities have been continuously developed and expanded.    The main interest represented within the Society is the steam railway locomotive, although members interests cover the full spectrum of model engineering activities.
